 | Tribes Ascend Graphics Tweaks: Ultra Low Setting |
If you’ve ever wanted to run Tribes Ascend on an old computer then we’ve got just the thing for you! Phanakapan, capper extrodinaire has posted his tribes.ini file, which you can install onto your own computer to set your Tribes Ascend visual details to their absolute lowest.
To set your Tribes Ascend Graphics details to their minimum:
First head to this website to download ‘phan’s tribes.ini’ file and rename ‘Tribes.ini’, then to install this file, open up Windows Explorer and navigate to your Tribes Ascend directory, it should look something like this:
C:\Users\YOUR-USERNAME\Documents\My Games\Tribes Ascend\tribesgame\config\
Copy the file ‘Tribes.ini’ located in this folder and save it somewhere for safety. Then copy the new Tribes.ini file from above and paste it into the config folder (overwriting the previous Tribes.ini file). Then you just need to load up Tribes Ascend and your new Ultra Low settings should be enabled. If you have any issues just remove the new Tribes.ini file and replace it with your previous one.
And when I say low settings, I mean LOW. Watch a video below with the tribes.ini file mentioned above installed.

I tried this config and my laptop still can’t handle the game. Low frames and unplayable. Why can’t they optimize the game for older systems? Why??

Hey I need help. This config works wonders and now i can finally play the game with 60 fps. BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTT, it crashes the sound. Like hard. The sound flat out doesn’t work. Please fix this

hi,
to get the sound back you need to change this line in the tribes.ini:
[XAudio2.XAudio2Device]
MaxChannels=1
put 32 instead of 1.

I did this but i still cant launch it because i don’t have shader model 3.0. Is there anyway around this? Please help.

@ Russel I’m pretty sure there may be a few programs, but they will butcher your performance and make the game unplayable. The only way to get around that is to buy a new video card.
