Get XP Quick In Tribes Ascend (Part 2) Posted Tuesday, 1st May, 2012

My previous post on getting XP quick in Tribes Ascend has been mega popular, so I thought I would give an updated version, as there have been a few patches since the last post and new ways introduced of getting XP fast.

1. Play Time
The first thing I need to mention is play time, The most efficient way to get XP in Tribes Ascend is just to play every day. Enemy kills, flag returns/caps and also generator/turret destruction all give you an XP boost but the fastest way to get XP is through time spent playing matches, also every day there is a ‘First Win Of The Day’ medal, which gives you 1200XP, so at least 1 winning match a day gives great XP gains.

2. Badges
A recent patch to Tribes Ascend introduced badges, these are awarded when you reach certain milestones for example skiing 1000 metres or destroying 50 turrets.  These badges also give you XP boosts, so one way to get huge amounts of XP is to focus on getting as many badges as possible.

Some of these badges can give you as much as 9000XP.  The easier ones you should focus on are the “Cross Country” badge, where you simply need to ski long distances, the ‘Demoman’ badge, which you get for killing enemy base assets, such as turrets and finally the “Operator” badge which you get for kills while in a vehicle.  You can accomplish this one by purchasing a tank and sitting behind your flag standing, killing incoming cappers, which is usually pretty easy as they use the light loadouts and can be killed with a single tank shot.

3. The Plasma Gun
The latest weapon addition to Tribes Ascend has been the Plasma gun.  This weapon was recently patched to be less effective but can still cause you to rack up huge amounts of kills, especially if you stay on defence, as shown below, where a fairly low level player manages to get 58 plasma gun kills in 1 game.  It also shoots large bullets, meaning you can get a lot of mid-air kills, which go towards getting the mid-air badge.

4. The Refer-A-Friend Program
Tribes Ascend currently has a system where if you get 1 person to download Tribes Ascend and they get to level 6, you receive 5,000XP, refer another and get another 5,000XP, etc etc.  To do this, head to the Tribes Ascend Refer-A-Friend Page and follow the links to get your referal link.  Then send this link out to your friends, the best way is through Facebook and Twitter, even if you get 1 or 2 people to try, that’s a great amount of free bonus XP.
